Between the waning pandemic restrictions (knock on wood) and the spring sunshine over Memorial Day weekend, the Coastside is in full bloom. People are smiling and rejoicing, shaking hands, and talking to strangers again. It’s an affirmation of our need for one another, and a beautiful sight to behold.

1. The Coastal Trail

Come admire the ocean blue hues during a stroll along the trail. Stop along the street for a coffee or cocktail in front of Miramar beach, or enjoy solitude amongst the cypress at Wavecrest. There’s a mood for everyone on our beloved trails. If you bring a furry friend you’re likely to get an impromptu playdate too! Make sure to smile, wave, or shaka to whomever you pass by!

2. The Jettywave Distillery and Swell Lounge

Hop on your bike, or gear up for a nice walk and head to the Jettywave! This fresh, new outdoor space in the El Granada harbor serves up creative cocktails blended with cold pressed juices (the recipes are so intriguing!) You can cozy up next to the fire pits while enjoying gourmet bites – they really have thought of everything. It’s the ideal spot to chat up your neighbors!

3. Fitness Classes

Endorphins + sweaty smiles + bouncy music = good vibes all around! Check out the newly updated list of classes at Fit Studio in Half Moon Bay. Want to kickstart your weekend? Hit up a Saturday morning class, grab a coffee and snack at the Sweets55 shop nearby, and head to the farmers market.

4. The Fancy Pants Costume Shop Grand Opening Party June 26th

A benefit for local nonprofit Coast Pride, this is the summer spectacular not to be missed! There will be dance numbers and performers from Las Vegas, as well as a surprise act. Don your festive wardrobe flair and come dance the day away! Tickets will be available through Fancy Pants Costume and Coast Pride.
